Welcome to the Catton Parish Council website. The site provides easy access to information about the parish council, the local area, news and events – as well as information for new residents or those. Catton Parish is a fairly small Parish, lying some 7 miles east of York and 1 mile south of Stamford Bridge. The Parish is bounded on the western side by the River Derwent and Scoreby, to the south. To the south of High Catton is a house, formerly called Land of Nod, where the parish poorhouses were once located. There was an unendowed school at Catton in 1743 with more than 30 children and in. Catton Village Hall is located in Low Catton in the East Riding of Yorkshire close to Stamford Bridge. We have two rooms available to hire, which can be hired individually or together to accommodate 100.
